And for the update on Lindsay and Kevin.  Several months after their wedding, Lindsay called to tell me she was pregnant and they were so very excited and then almost 10 months after their wedding, they welcomed Little Jayce Vallance into a world of love and wonder.  She sent me this photo when he was 4 months old and you can see why I am filled with joy to see this beautiful young family starting to grow and thrive!!!

On May 16th, 2015, our very own Lake Chelan's Lindsay McKenney, was married to Kevin Vallance at the Brown Family Homestead, a Homestead in the same family since 1901. It is in the hills of Leavenworth, Wa. near Lake Wenatchee. It is very rustic, with log house, log outbuildings, horses, chickens, flowers everywhere, clear blue mountain sky all around, snow clad mountains, huge evergreens and it's absolutely a stunning and beautiful wedding venue. Lindsay and Kevin loved the "country" feel, as did their friends and family.

Jackie Brynn was the photographer, but the following photos were taken by Stanley Dabney, husband of the minister, Rev. Sylvia Dabney of Chelan Wedding Services. The bride and groom requested an “unplugged” ceremony, no ipads, cell phones nor cameras during the ceremony, so until we see the photographers photos of the actual ceremony, we only have a few of the Brown Family Homestead, the reception area and the wedding party dining.

The bride and groom embraced the Western theme with arrangements incorporating deer horns (many found on their own property by the groom) and arrangements of flowers with natural greenery, ferns, pink peonies and soft colored wild flowers.

The beautiful bride wore ivory lace and her darling flower girls, who told me, that they, at age 6 and 7 were “quite experienced” as flower girls, wore matching ivory lace dresses and cowboy boots.

Lindsay and her father Frank McKenney, were brought to the ceremony in a horse drawn carriage and many of us recognize “Belle” the beautiful horse and her drivers from previous weddings in the area. After the ceremony, the bride and groom, Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Vallance, were taken to the reception on the carriage with a large sign on the back of the carriage, which read “Just Married”.

We all send our love and congratulations to this special couple, who are close friends of all the vendors listed below, well known in the entire Lake Chelan Valley, and a couple whom we all love.
